Use Tyro Claim Estimates in Principle to provide patients with an instant estimate of their expected health fund rebate and out-of-pocket costs. This helps patients make informed decisions, reduces billing surprises, and gives your team greater confidence when discussing treatment costs.
Navigate to the Treatment Plan tab either through your in-appointment workflow, or in the Patient Profile
Click into your desired treatment plan
Scroll down to the step, and in the 3 dot menu, click 'Get a Claim Estimate'
Select Tyro
All item codes in that step will populate. You can choose to keep each item code selected or deselect as necessary.
Click 'Estimate Claim'
Add the last 2 digits of the patient's Health Fund Member Number, then click 'Submit'
At this point, you'll need to select the Tyro terminal connected to your computer.
Tyro will process the Claim Estimate and your Principle screen will then display:
Each item code with the benefit and gap
total benefit received
total gap received
