HICAPS provides payment terminals enabling direct claims from all Australian health insurance providers. Principle seamlessly integrates with HICAPS, enabling users to utilise and process claims directly within Principle, which are then communicated to your terminal.

This article will cover HICAPS setup and integration with Principle as well as some troubleshooting information.

HICAPS Trinity terminal
The HICAPS Trinity terminal connects wirelessly to its base/dock which has a range of connection options.
During installation and discovery of the terminal in HICAPS Connect it is essential that the Micro USB cable is connected from the terminal base to the computer in question to avoid connectivity problems.
HICAPS Connect
HICAPS Connect is the software that enables your HICAPS terminal to connect with your computer. In order for Principle to integrate with HICAPS, HICAPS Connect must first be installed and checked to make sure your terminal is being discovered by the software.

HICAPS Connect should be set to run on startup of your computer. In order for Principle to communicate with your HICAPS terminal, the terminal must first be discovered by HICAPS Connect.
Principle Bridge
The Principle Bridge is an application which runs in the Taskbar of your computer that allows Principle to connect with integrated hardware such as imaging devices and payment terminals.
The Principle Bridge is installed by Principle support staff during the setup of imaging or payment integrations and should be set to run on startup of your computer.

Important
In order for the HICAPS integration to work as intended with Principle;
HICAPS Connect must be active and be able to detect your terminal.
AND
Principle Bridge must be Open and Active on the computer where the transaction is being processed.
