What Are Follow Ups?
Follow-ups are reminders that help you keep track of patients who need to be contacted later or tasks that need to be completed.
The red icon beside the Follow Ups tab indicates any Follow Up's which are assigned to your user.
Common uses include:
Calling patients to book their next treatment step.
Reminding a patient to update documents or forms.
Following up on outstanding payments.
Contacting a patient for routine recalls (e.g. 6-month check-up).
Checking on lab work or external referrals.
Follow-ups reduce the risk of forgetting important tasks and allow the whole team to stay aligned.
Creating a Follow Up
Click Follow-Ups from the side bar.
Review the list of patients. You’ll see their name, treatment plan, and last contact date. Click the down arrow next to the relevant patient.
Read their scheduling notes, missed appointment details, and appointment history so you have context before reaching out.
Choose whether to SMS, call, or email the patient.
Record the outcome of the contact in the notes field, then click Add Note.
If the patient would like to reschedule, click Reschedule and follow the prompts.
If they don’t respond, or ask to be contacted later, click Postpone and select a new follow-up date.
💡 Tip
Make checking your Follow Ups part of your daily routine. One quick review in the morning and again in the afternoon keeps your workflow smooth and ensures patients feel well looked after.
