The Receptionist Dashboard provides a real time overview of all patients attending the practice on a given day. It helps you track each patient’s journey from arrival to departure, manage communications, and complete daily reception tasks.

Navigating the Dashboard
Open the Reception Dashboard from the left sidebar.
The Dashboard will display today’s appointments or the last viewed date range.
You can choose multiple dates by:
Clicking into the calendar icon on top left of Receptionist Dashboard.
Clicking the mini calendar icon on the right of the date selector.
Choose your start date.
Click your end date.
Click the Home icon to return to today.
Statuses
The Receptionist Dashboard organises the days patients and keeps track of where they are throughout their appointment.
You can predict the next patient walking into the practice by looking at this section. Expected Arrivals are organised from earliest to latest appointment.
Status | Description |
Expected Arrivals | Patients booked to attend on the selected date. |
Waiting | Patients who have checked in and are waiting to be seen. |
Expected Departures | Patients currently being treated. |
Done | Patients who have completed treatment and been checked out. |
Treatment Categories/Colours
The coloured bar beside each appointment indicates its treatment type. These colours match what you see on the Timeline.
Principle includes a variety of Treatment Categories by default. These can be edited and added to from the Treatment Categories page in the Settings.

Each appointment can be expanded by clicking on it to see details about the patient and the treatment they are booked for:
Appointment Not Confirmed Alert.
The Treatment the patient is booked in for.
Access to Clinical, Social, and Scheduling Notes.
Patient Details (photo, age, date of birth, account balance, medical alerts).
Related automations (notifications, tasks, or checklists).
View or add any Tags to the appointment.
Pre or Post-appointment Checklists.

The Receptionist Dashboard compliments the Timeline by providing a concise view of every patients journey through your practice, alongside all the tools needed check them in and out.

Keep the Receptionist Dashboard open during the day - It complements the Timeline by giving a clear overview of patient flow and outstanding actions.
