This article walks you through the process of submitting a Ministry of Health (MOH) claim after completing treatment for an eligible patient.

Written by Ayden

Before You Begin

Ensure:

  • Your practice MOH credentials are configured (see Getting Started with MOH Claiming).

  • The patient has an NHI number and school recorded in their profile.

  • The treatment has been completed and an invoice has been created with the correct MOH treatment codes.

Submitting a Claim

You can submit an MOH claim either during the checkout process, or from an invoice.

During the Checkout

  1. Before the appointment has been marked as 'Ready for Checkout' ensure the correct MOH Fee Schedule has been applied to the treatment under the 'Today's Appointment' box.

2. At Step 3: 'Pay Invoice' the option to Claim will be available. Select 'MOH' before selecting the codes you want to claim.

3. This will then auto populate the patients school and NHI number, with the option to select the MOH Schedule (OHSA, SDS, High Caries).

Click 'Generate Forms'.

This will generate a preview of the form submission.

4. You can attach supporting documents (e.g. radiographs) to the claim. These can be uploaded or selected from the patient's profile. Attachments will be emailed along with the MOH forms.

5. Add your signature - The practitioner's signature is required on the claim form.

6. Click Submit to send the claim.

Principle will email the completed forms directly to MOH.

Once submitted, the claim will appear as 'Pending' on the invoice.

Continue through the Check Out workflow to complete the appointment.

From the Invoice

To submit an MOH claim from an invoice, click into the 'Account' tab from the patient's profile and select the relevant invoice.

At the bottom of the invoice, there will be payment options, including the option to 'Claim'.

Select 'MOH' to generate the forms and repeat the above claiming steps.
