Send a Referral Email to the Specialist

Use Principle to send an email to the specialist, and keep track of the conversation in the specialist's profile.

You can either create a task to remind you to email the specialist or you can email the specialist through the contacts page.

Using the task reminder

  1. Create the task and in the Title, type in: 'Send a referral email to @(your specialist's name) for @ (your patient name). If your specialists name does not show up, you'll need to add them to your contacts.

  2. You will get reminded when it's time to complete the task in your notifications. Click into the notification or the Tasks section in the Main Menu

  3. Click into the task, and in the task's history, click on the Specialist's name and a menu will appear.


  4. Select Email and a pop-up window should appear.


  5. Type the Subject of the email and enter the referral message into the Contents section. Click send.


    Note: You can create Templates through document templates and apply them as a Template to help prefill certain documents.

Using the Contacts Page

  1. In the Main Menu, click Contacts

  2. Search for your contact in the search bar or if necessary, create a contact

  3. Click into your contact's name

  4. On the right hand side, select Email and a pop-up window should appear.

5. Type the Subject of the email and enter the referral message into the Contents section. Click send.

Note: any responses to this email will be sent to the email configured to the Principle Account Holder - generally a reception@yourdentalpracticename or info@your dentalpracticename etc
