The following will show you how to set up, manage and issue prescriptions through Principle.

Setting up Prescriptions
1. Enable Permissions go to settings > roles and enable the permission 'User can view, edit, and delete a patient's prescriptions' for the roles you wish to allow prescription management, don't forget to save.
2. Add prescriber details go to settings > staff and add the prescriber number and optionally the prescriber qualifications and save.
3. Configure medications add medication by going to settings > prescriptions and add or edit the prescription items. These items will allow you to quickly build prescriptions.
4. Adjust print margins on the same page you will find the option to adjust printer margins and test print prescription to ensure everything is lining up correctly.
Create a prescription for a patient through the patient profile
Head to the patient profile and you will see a 'Prescriptions' tab here you can manage the patient's prescriptions and create new ones.
Create a prescription when in an appointment
Similarly to the above workflow you can create prescriptions when in an appointment. Click the 3 dot menu next to 'Today's Appointment' then Click 'Add Prescription' and choose to either continue editing a draft or create a new prescription.
Issuing versus Printing a Prescription
Issue a prescription
Simply click 'Issue' when on a prescription and it will appear in the 'Checkout Checklist' as a mandatory step. This is handy if you would like the front of house to print this for you.
Printing a Prescription
If you would like to print a prescription yourself, select print and the print dialogue will appear.
